Phase I of the Monsignor Ralph Gallagher Parish Center revitalization - focused on replacing the gymnasium floor - is now fully funded and set for completion by the end of Trimester 1. This was made possible thanks to generous support from Mr. Dan Flatley and the Flatley Foundation, the 2025 Gala & Auction, and the St. Agatha Parish Social Committee.
Saint Agatha School is happy to announce an expansion of its Early Childhood program in response to increasing community demand. The initiative includes adding more classroom space, hiring additional qualified staff, and enhancing curriculum offerings to better serve young learners and their families.
This fall, Saint Agatha School is excited to launch a new, research-based literacy curriculum for students in Kindergarten (K2) through Grade 2. Rooted in the school’s tradition of academic excellence, this initiative reflects a deep commitment to continuous growth and to equipping every student with the essential tools for lifelong reading success.
Saint Agatha School recently celebrated unforgettable student experiences, thanks to strong community support. Two students arrived at school in a police cruiser and a fire truck, creating exciting memories. The school also honored alumna Officer Caroline Butts for her charity marathon run and classroom visit. These events reflect the school’s close ties with local first responders and its caring community. Everyone looks forward to more fun at the next Gala on February 28, 2026.
Saint Agatha School proudly participated in the I Believe in Catholic Education forum at Xaverian Brothers High School, celebrating the mission and future of Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Boston. The event featured keynote speeches by Superintendent Eileen McLaughlin and Archbishop Richard G. Henning, who emphasized leadership, faith, and the spiritual formation of students.
A highlight was the Saint Agatha School Chorus’s inspiring performance of “You Are Holy (Prince of Peace).” Principal Chambers expressed pride in representing the school community.
Saint Agatha School’s Effman Band & String Program, led by Mrs. Jennifer Hawes, offers structured music lessons for grades 1 - 8. Students begin with violin and later explore various band instruments. Lessons focus on foundational and ensemble skills. Advanced students performed at Faneuil Hall in the 2025 Honor Band.

On June 4, 2025, Saint Agatha School celebrated the Graduation Mass and Ceremony for the Class of 2025 at Saint Agatha Church. The evening began with a Eucharistic Mass led by Rev. William Palardy, featuring a joyful homily about St. Philip's playful humility. Following Mass, Principal Gregg Chambers and Assistant Principal Barbara Smith presented diplomas and scholarships honoring academic excellence and character. Teacher Maeve McDonald introduced each award, and an alumni chorus added warmth to the event. Graduates departed with faith and joy, ready for the next chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2025 on this meaningful milestone!

On March 8, 2025, Saint Agatha School hosted a successful Gala & Auction at Granite Links Ballroom, raising nearly $90,000 to support the school’s future. The event featured an exciting silent and live auction, along with heartfelt testimonials from key figures, all emphasizing the school’s profound impact, the importance of faith-based education, and the strength of its valued community.

Last week, Saint Agatha School experienced a memorable celebration of faith and community. Grade 6 students participated in the taping of the Catholic TV Mass, showcasing their dedication and involvement in worship. The week culminated in a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Henning, with the school’s choir enhancing the liturgy. Students actively engaged in the Mass, reflecting the strong faith nurtured within the school. The Archbishop’s visit to the classrooms highlighted the faculty’s hard work. What a fantastic kickoff to National Catholic Schools Week! Our Winter Open House at Saint Agatha School was filled with energy, excitement, and a strong sense of community.
